The  Youth Dance & Theatre Festival at the University of Delaware is a vibrant, one-day celebration of dance and theatre, bringing together middle and high school students from public and private schools, private studios, and nonprofit programs across Delaware and the surrounding region. Participants engage in enriching workshops, inspiring masterclasses, and live performance. Serving up to 200 young artists, instructors, and families, the festival fosters connection, creativity, and community. It also offers the University of Delaware’s Department of Theatre & Dance a meaningful opportunity to engage with the state’s dance and theatre community as we work collectively to nurture the next generation of artists.

Youth participants will take a variety of courses in either dance or theatre, which may include Hip Hop, Kathak, musical theatre, ballet, Afro-Caribbean, modern dance,  dance composition, acting, voice, movement for the stage, improvisation, production and more!

Professional development for instructors will include technique, somatic practice,

music editing and more!
